Three student projects from across Europe won yesterday the 2019 Social Innovation Relay. So-Bikers from Bulgaria, Mon(k)ey$ from the Czech Republic and MNEMON from Greece presented the most innovative ideas with strong societal impact and market potential.
The European Enterprise Challenge hosted this year by JA Norway/Ungt Entreprenørskap awarded Artifish the “Enterprise of the Year’ prize.
The JA Europe Enterprise Challenge brings together the best European student companies and gives them the opportunity to compete against each other for the prestigious prize of “Enterprise of the Year”.
21 students from Belgium, Italy, The Netherlands and Romania came to Brussels to pitch their ideas to an international jury on how to upgrade and modernize the Brussels inner-city transport network in a cost-effective way, while reducing environmental impacts.
Students from the Louis Armand high school in Eaubonne, close to Paris, presented a “Revolutionary transportation system” to tackle traffic disruption, congestion and pollution during the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA. The project included a very comprehensive transportation plan combining a sky train network, solar panels and autonomous buses.
Their innovative idea was awarded the first prize by an international jury of experts at the European Business Summit on 6 and 7 of May in Brussels, in the context of the European final event of “Inventing the Future", an initiative of JA Europe and the Arconic Foundation, focused on entrepreneurship and STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). The other three finalists in the competition included teams from Germany, Hungary and the UK.
International Student Company Festival (ISCF) organized by the Latvia’s largest education organization Junior Achievement Latvia (JA Latvia), in which 100 companies from 15 European countries participated. The best companies of this year have also been identified in six categories.
