    Speaking at the Award Ceremony of the 2020 JA Europe Company of the Year Competition, UN Secretary-General António Guterres declared that “now is the time for new thinking and novel approaches. This crisis offers us an opportunity to reframe traditional business models, and to reset the business agenda by building the capabilities and systems that will foster breakthrough innovations.” Paolo Gentiloni, European Commissioner for the Economy, echoed this message: “We need your energy, your skills, your entrepreneurship and your capacity. We can only achieve a real recovery with a strong contribution of all citizens and especially the young generation. This is why we called our recovery plan The Next Generation EU.

  • Belgian start-up SAANA wins AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award 2020

    The American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) and Junior Achievement Europe (JA Europe) are delighted to announce that SAANA, a Belgian start-up, is the winner of the 8th AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award.

  • AID4ALL from Cyprus is JA Europe Enterprise of the Year 2020

    The Main Jury picked the Start Up AID4ALL as the winner of the “JA Europe Enterprise of the Year” Award. The students from Cyprus set up a business to find solutions for people with disabilities, offering a product that aims at compensating hearing loss with the sense of touch. Team MIZED from Portugal making customised protections for athletes was awarded 2nd place in the European competition, while team Stiles from Malta producing environmentally sustainable décor tiles won the 3rd place.

  • Social Innovation Relay - winners of the 2020 edition

    For the 6th consecutive year, JA Europe and NN Group have partnered through the Social Innovation Relay to empower young people to tackle societal challenges by using innovation and entrepreneurship. Every year, we involve more than 10 000 students and 200 NN Group volunteers from across 10 countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia and Spain.

  • Junior Achievement Digital Innovation Awards 2020

    Today’s competition brought together finalists from ten countries who pitched their digital ‘mini companies’ for the Digital Innovation Award, organised by BNY Mellon and JA Europe.

    More than 4000 young students from Europe (Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the UK) and the Middle East (UAE) participated, supported by just under 250 BNY Mellon volunteers.
