President of the European Parliament receives FERD's List Award

At JA Europe Leadership Summit in Malta, President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, visited JA Malta Foundation’s Marketplace where JA students showcased their businesses realised through the JA Company Programme.

This visit was the occasion to hand over the FERD’s List Trophy to President Metsola who is a FERD's List Honouree 2022.

Roberta Metsola took part in the JA Malta Foundation programme while in high school and remembers it as “nothing less than the best experience of [her] life.”

Johan H. Andresen, owner and chairman of Ferd and initiator of the FERD’s List, said: “We want to show that the entrepreneurial programs of JA – Junior Achievement, offer young people a unique opportunity which gives them self-awareness and learning through experience. This enables them to make better choices for themselves and their communities.”

Salvatore Nigro, CEO of JA Europe, said: “We are proud of her story and achievements, and grateful for her commitment to meet young Europeans and share her inspirational journey!”

“Once you are an Alumni you are always an Alumni", added President Metsola as she met with students going through the JA Company Programmes, representatives of JA Alumni Europe and staff from the European network.
