ManpowerGroup Partners with JA Europe to Endorse Entrepreneurial Skills Pass (ESP)

Brussels, Belgium, 04 November 2015

ManpowerGroup (NYSE: MAN), the world’s workforce expert, became a partner of JA Europe’s Entrepreneurial Skills Pass (ESP), a certification of young people’s entrepreneurial competences and work-readiness. By endorsing the ESP, ManpowerGroup is committed to offering opportunities to the program’s students, offering real-life business experience and engaging ManpowerGroup employees to provide mentorship, advice and counselling to those enrolled in the program.

In line with its recognised and global expertise in connecting human potential to the power of business, ManpowerGroup’s commitment represents a crucial milestone in its goal to provide innovative workforce solutions and services across the globe, enabling people to acquire the business and leadership skills they need in the ever-changing world of work.

Country leaders within ManpowerGroup have already begun to provide ESP-certified students with job-shadow opportunities. Geert Vaerenberg, director, Experis Belgium, worked with Nikola Rybárová, a JA alumna from Slovakia, in October; Maalfrid Brath, managing director, ManpowerGroup Norway, was followed by a student from Norway – Amalie Jakobsen Heiberg, and Nuno Gameiro, general manager, Manpower Portugal, plans to welcome his ‘shadow’ in the near future.

“ManpowerGroup is setting a great example with the engagement of so many employees as volunteers and their deep commitment to providing extended learning opportunities to young people while they are still in school,” said Caroline Jenner, CEO, JA Europe. “JA alumni earn more, are more satisfied with their career choices and many go on to start their own companies. When business and education team up like this, it positively impacts young people’s employability and reduces skills gaps.”

“We are pleased to continue building on the existing relationship we have developed with JA across the globe,” said Hans Leentjes, ManpowerGroup President of Northern Europe. “We are strongly committed to increasing the employment opportunities for young people by helping them to develop the skills and gain the knowledge necessary to succeed in tomorrow’s labour market. The Entrepreneurial Skills Pass is a concrete and tangible program that aligns with our core values and enables us to support the new generation workforce with our world of work expertise’’.
