JA Europe with Euroclear for a 4th Year Strong

04 October 2017

JA Europe and Euroclear, are collaborating for a fourth consecutive year in a skills-based volunteering campaign promoting entrepreneurial and business skills among students.

• Euroclear, a pre-eminent provider of post-trade services

• JA Europe, Europe’s largest provider of education programmes for entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy, partners for a fourth year to accomplish the goal and increases the scope of the partnership.

Since 2014, Euroclear volunteers have been a key success factor to the implementation of JA programmes across Europe and recently in Hong Kong. The partnership continues to thrive including nine JA organisations, namely, Vlajo (Belgium), Les Jeunes Entreprises (Belgium), JA Finland, Entreprendre Pour Apprendre (France), JA Hong Kong, Jong Ondernemen (Netherlands), JA Poland, JA Sweden, Young Enterprise UK.

Arno Illukka, Head of Corporate Technology Finland and Sweden, Euroclear remarked, “These kinds of events give the opportunity for sharing one’s own experiences to the younger generation. We can provide insight about the finance sector and what kind of career paths it can provide now and in the future.”

A student from Hong Kong shared her impressions, saying, “The Euroclear volunteers are very welcoming and friendly. They provided me with many opinions and advice on my future career path and shared with me a lot of life experiences.”

Euroclear volunteers coach and mentor students in a wide variety of programmes including JA Company Program, Our Community and the Start Up Program, to name a few. Last year over 200 Euroclear volunteers inspired over 5000 students. Euroclear also sponsored the Social Entrepreneurship Award at JA Europe’s Company of the Year Competition held in Brussels, July 2017. Lieve Mostrey, CEO of Euroclear personally delivered the award to the winning team, Inizio from the Netherlands.

This year JA Europe and the Euroclear strive to impact the lives of another 5000 students and involve 200 Eurolcear volunteers to achieve that!
