JA Europe and Citi Foundation deepen their cooperation to support low income students in entrepreneurship endeavoursBrussels, 20 November 2019
The Citi Foundation and Junior Achievement Europe (JA Europe) will deepen their cooperation into this new school year with a boosted emphasis on low income communities.
The Citi Foundation is focused on preparing today’s young people to be the most employable generation yet. By partnering with JA Europe, the Citi Foundation aims this year to support 68,000 young people across 22 European countries to participate in JA’s flagship entrepreneurship education programme, the JA Company Programme. Throughout the year, these young people will be supported by more than 250 Citi volunteers who will coach and mentor them to take their business ideas from concept to reality.
To help the students take stock of their progress throughout the year and help them with their future employability, the Citi Foundation will offer them the opportunity to take the JA Entrepreneurial Skills Pass (ESP): the ESP is an international qualification that certifies that students aged 15-19 who have had an entrepreneurship experience through the JA Company Programme, have gained the necessary knowledge, skills and competences to start a business or to be successfully employed. By supporting the ESP, the Citi Foundation helps young people in low income communities develop their entrepreneurship and leadership skills and secure opportunities for their future employability.
