Economic Opportunities for All - Initiative of JA Europe together with NN Group

01 April 2021

JA Europe and NN Group are pleased to announce a new joint initiative aiming to provide economic opportunities for young people with limited resources or opportunities, by supporting their transition from education to employment and/or becoming entrepreneurs. Together, we will contribute to a more equal society.

The “Economic Opportunities for All Initiative” allows Junior Achievement to scale its existing programmes and to design new experimental learning programmes for young people with lack of resources while setting-up local sustainable ecosystems to provide economic growth. In 2021, our collaboration is focusing on defining and testing an impactful model in Greece, the Netherlands, Spain and Romania. Based on the outcome and results, it can be scaled-up to the Junior Achievement network across Europe.

Dailah Nihot, Board Member of NN Group said: “Investing in communities is part of our promise to society. We want to make an impact that lasts, and that is why we join forces with non-profit organisations with the right expertise. We have been a longstanding partner of JA Europe. The new initiative will support them in further building their capacity to help more youngsters in growing their economic opportunities. Shifting our attention to those who are currently underserved fits well with our efforts to promote a more inclusive and sustainable society.”

Our new collaboration with NN Group builds on joint work since 2015 to empower young people with a wide range of work readiness and financial literacy skills while, at the same time, tackling societal challenges by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in 13 countries. NN Group continues to develop and recognise entrepreneurial skills by supporting the Social Innovation Relay (SIR) as well as students’ access to the Entrepreneurial Skills Pass (ESP), an international micro-credential certifying the skills, competences and knowledge acquired by students through their entrepreneurial experience at school.

Now more than ever it is imperative to make sure no-one is left behind. Thanks to NN Group, we are able to extend innovative employment and entrepreneurship opportunities to the next generation of Europeans for them to succeed and thrive”, said Salvatore Nigro, CEO JA Europe. Adam Warby, Chairman of JA Europe added: “Our partnership with NN Group is a model in action of how to help youth who lack the resources or opportunity of many others. At the same time, we will be closing the gap between the educational systems and the most in-demand skills of the labour market.
