I decided to join the SIR for several reasons. Firstly, as a researcher, I am always interested in innovation, new ideas, and novelties, especially if they are intended to make life better. Secondly, I am always one of the firsts to commit to voluntary services or to support revolutionary movements. Lastly, I also like to work with young people. In the past, I had some courses on market research in a Budapest university. In all, I was very happy that NN supports the SIR this year and I hope it won’t be the last time either.

I first heard of the Social Innovation Relay from our communication department. They presented the purpose of the events and stimulated participation very well. I immediately thought: “I would like to try to work with, guide and lead young people.”

The JA Company Programme has had a great influence on me as a person. At first, I thought it was a stupid plan, I did not feel like doing the programme. Together with my fellow students we were just beginning our studies and had no idea what we’re starting. However, as the programme progressed, I became more and more interested in our own company and product! I even continued working on the company outside of school. At the end of the year, the teacher asked me what I had learned from the programme. I think I learned a lot about entrepreneurship and myself because we were thrown into the deep-end.

I had the pleasure to work with JUNIOR (JA Germany) for the past 2 years and I must say it has been a great experience! In Germany, Barclaycard and JUNIOR established a strong partnership. In the past 2 years, we are proud to have engaged over 2,100 students in the JUNIOR company program all over Germany.

As part of Citi’s citizenship strategy and commitment to giving back to communities, the company has always encouraged its employees to volunteer their time and knowledge in support of different programs that aim to improve lives and enable progress. I have been involved in Junior Achievement’s projects during the past decade, and this has been one of my most treasured contributions to the society, always carrying a sense of personal fulfilment. Engaging with the enthusiastic younger generation has always been a stimulating experience, motivating me to further support Junior Achievement’s valuable programmes.
