Irena Matraku

Irena, a product manager at Comhar Technology Group, has made a remarkable impact as a change-maker, innovator, entrepreneur, and leader in Education Technology. Irena’s most significant accomplishment is the successful promotion of Akademi.al, the largest e-learning platform in the Western Balkans. Approved by the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth in Albania, it played a crucial role during the pandemic, ensuring uninterrupted learning for students in pre-university educational institutions. With over 500,000 users, the platform offers a diverse range of online courses, available for purchase or free access. Additionally, Irena is deeply engaged in initiatives that create social, cultural, and financial value. She organised HackTirona, an impactful hackathon, where young individuals collaborated to address economic and social issues affecting Albanian youth, fostering creative economy and innovation. Irena’s commitment to giving back and inspiring others is ingrained in her professional ethos. She is actively involved in the Junior Achievement network, continuously generating fresh ideas, mentoring new members and students, and contributing to various events. Her dedication extends beyond borders as she has served as part of the JA Alumni Europe team for two consecutive years, promoting the #alumnispirit whenever possible. Irena continues to leave an indelible mark in the fields of education, youth empowerment, and innovation.
