Shangamer Ahmed

Co-Founder at Locker Room Talk

Shanga Aziz is a Swedish social entrepreneur and co-founder of Locker Room Talk, an organization committed to promoting gender equality, emotional intelligence, and value-based leadership in sports. Shanga grew up witnessing the challenges young men face in conforming to traditional notions of masculinity. This experience inspired him to create a platform where young athletes could learn about respect, empathy, and equality. In 2016, Shanga, together with his friend Rogerio Silva, founded Locker Room Talk. The initiative began as a response to the locker room culture in sports, often associated with toxic masculinity and harmful stereotypes. The organization conducts workshops aimed at young boys, aged 10-14, providing them with tools to challenge traditional gender norms and encouraging them to become role models both on and off the field. Under Shanga’s leadership, Locker Room Talk has gained national and international recognition, receiving awards and accolades for its innovative approach to tackling gender inequality in sports. Both the King of Sweden and Zlatan Ibrahimović have presented awards for Shanga and his organization.
