Although Europe is currently experiencing steady growth trends in education, school dropout rates remain statistically significant. The European Union, on average, has a dropout rate of 10.2%. There are various reasons for dropout with percentages higher in segregated communities and areas with higher poverty rate. These include everything from economic migration to traditions, early marriage, safety of school environment, etc.
Re-power your future is a partnership between JA Europe and UniCredit Foundation that aims to equip the most vulnerable youth with the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities, with early interventions in order to reduce school drop outs and to support their transitions from learning to earning. In addition, it fosters integration and social cohesion among young people.
Adolescents and young adults (age 10-19) will be inspired, empowered and mobilised to see new possibilities for themselves and support a shift in mindset to believe on the potentials of their future by creating something for themselves.
Together with UniCredit Foundation, JA Europe and its member nations in 10 European countries, aim to be a force for positive social and economic change, contributing to a competitive labour force, sustained economic growth, improved governance, and vibrant civil societies, through the delivery of JA programmes and skills based volunteering.
