Last week JA Europe’s Annual General Assembly endorsed the appointment of three new Members to its Board of Directors:
Carlo Mazzone
Education Expert
Carlo Mazzone is an Italian educator and digital innovation leader with a background in computer science and industry consulting. A teacher in the public school system since 2004, he is known for developing widely used programming materials and for leading the implementation of Italy’s National Digital Plan at ITI “G.B.B. Lucarelli” in Benevento. His “Vivariumware” methodology, which simulates real-world enterprise to build student skills, earned him a place among the Top 10 Finalists for the 2020 Global Teacher Prize, selected from over 12,000 nominations. Under his guidance, students have achieved top results in Junior Achievement competitions at regional, national, and European levels and have engaged in international collaboration across Europe.
Antigoni Komodiki
Chair of the Board of Executives and CEO of JA Cyprus
Antigoni Komodiki is the CEO of Junior Achievement Cyprus and has over 17 years of experience in primary education. She holds an MA in Educational Leadership and a PGCE in Gifted Education and is currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental Entrepreneurship Education at the Cyprus University of Technology. She has coordinated multiple European Erasmus+ and Comenius projects and received the National Award for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship in Cyprus in 2017, representing the country at the European Awards for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship.
Silvan Vifian,
Elected President of JA Alumni Europe
As President of JA Alumni Europe, Silvan represents the alumni community at the JA Europe Board of Directors and ensures smooth collaboration between strategy and operations. He guides the network’s development, supports team coordination, and co-leads flagship initiatives like Gen-E and the JA Alumni Conference.
Laurence Morvan, Chair of the Board of Directors, said “The expertise and dedication of our new Board Members will play a key role in shaping the future of JA Europe. Their backgrounds in education, innovation, and youth leadership align closely with our vision to equip young people with the skills they need to thrive in a changing world.”
