Chief Citizenship and Institutional Affairs Officer at Schneider Electric

After an initial experience as President of an NGO and as a member of a Ministerial Cabinet in France, Gilles Vermot Desroches joined Schneider Electric in 1998. His primary mission was to establish and develop the Schneider Electric Foundation under the aegis of Fondation de France.

Three years later, Gilles assumed leadership of the newly created global Sustainable Development department. This entity was established to define and deploy the company’s environmental, ethical, and social policies, as well as raise awareness among Schneider Electric employees and stakeholders on sustainability issues. He also led the Access to Energy Program.

In February 2021, Gilles Vermot Desroches was appointed Senior Vice President of the newly formed Corporate Citizenship & Institutional Affairs department, reinforcing the Group’s societal commitments and addressing the challenges faced by younger generations and seniors.

Gilles Vermot Desroches holds several prominent positions, including:

– General Delegate of the Schneider Electric Foundation

– President of the Youth NGO: “100 Chances 100 Emplois”

– Vice-President of UN Global Compact France

– Vice-President of the Energy & Environment Commission of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce)

– Co-President of the MEDEF (French employer federation) Youth and Corporate Commission

– Member of various boards, including “Ticket for Change” and the NGO “ANAE”

– In the French Economic and Social Council (CESE), he is a member of the businesses group, Vice-President of the Environmental Commission, and co-reporter on “Impacts of Artificial Intelligence: Risks and Opportunities for the Environment.”

Gilles is also the author of “Le printemps des millennials” (July 2018).
