Giulia Lovaste

Giulia Lovaste is Head of the EU Business Law Department and provides strategic legal advice in European Union Law, Competition and Antitrust Law, as well as in International and EU Commercial Law, with a particular focus on investments in the European market and on relations between the European Union and third countries. She regularly advises Member States, international investors, institutional stakeholders and corporations, both in non-contentious and contentious matters, handling multijurisdictional merger control notifications and interacting with the European Commission, national competition authorities and non‑EU antitrust authorities.
She also advises on foreign direct investment (FDI) screening and Golden Power regimes, as well as on the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR), providing assistance in relation to notification obligations, investigative proceedings before the European Commission and EU litigation. In addition, she advises on European Union sanctions and restrictive measures, supporting institutional clients and economic operators in compliance matters and in proceedings before the competent authorities.
Ms Lovaste works on a regular basis with European Union institutions and with several Directorates‑General of the European Commission, assisting them in the development and implementation of EU legislation across a range of sectors, including energy, transport, aviation, financial markets and competition law. She also represents clients before the General Court of the European Union and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Prior to joining GA‑Alliance, she worked with the President of the Commercial Section of the Milan Court of Appeal, where she gained significant experience in corporate law, banking and finance law, as well as in financial arbitration and related matters.
Previously, Ms Lovaste worked with an international law firm in New York, where she specialised in Business Law, with particular emphasis on the entry and operation of Italian companies in the United States market.
