Annual Gross Salary: 28,000 – 32,000 euros/year based on experience, location and contractual arrangements (initial contract of 18 months, subject to renewal)
Are you an experienced media professional/journalist with passion for the online landscape of communications and social media platforms? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Specialist with a strong journalistic/media background to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new youth initiatives in the media and audiovisual areas on behalf of JA Europe, working closely with JA Members, partners and other stakeholders across Europe.
Position Overview:
As the Communications Specialist at JA Europe, you will play a key role in innovative ways to engage young Europeans aged 16-25 at the crossroads of policy, journalism, and multimedia. Our aim is to empower young people in new ways to discover entrepreneurship and careers in journalism and content creation in the digital era. Your role will involve coordinating and implementing various media-related youth empowerment initiatives, including national and European events, trainings, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative youth-led communication strategies and initiatives.
- Create, curate, and manage youth-led content, including articles, videos, podcasts, and social media posts.
- Collaborate with young content creators, providing guidance and support to enhance their journalistic skills.
- Drive communication and visibility of the new initiatives across JA Europe’s channels and networks.
- Organize and participate in events, workshops, and training sessions and initiate new types of visual/audiovisual content.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of the activities, providing regular reports and insights.
- Ensure all content adheres to high journalistic standards and ethical guidelines.
- Utilize digital tools and platforms to maximize the reach and engagement of the content developed.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in journalism, media, or communications.
- Proven experience in content creation, including writing, editing, and multimedia production.
- Strong understanding of digital media and social media platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in other European languages is an asset.
- Experience working on EU-funded projects is a plus.
