Strengthening Future Societies: Building Back Better Through Social Entrepreneurship 

Junior Achievement Moldova celebrates 30 years of economic and entrepreneurial education.   
 

Chisinau, 13 May 2025: On May 13, 2025, Junior Achievement Moldova (JA Moldova) marks three decades of activity in the field of economic and entrepreneurial education, through a large-scale anniversary event organized at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau.  

The event “Strengthening Future Societies: Building Back Better Through Social Entrepreneurship” will be attended by approximately 350 guests from the Republic of Moldova and abroad, including students, teachers, donors, ambassadors, representatives of the business environment, educational institutions, central and local public authorities, as well as members of the organization’s board of directors.  

Keynote speeches from high-ranking officials of the Republic of Moldova and international partners will open the even. Among them are the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, the Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, the Governor of the National Bank, Anca Dragu, the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, Jānis Mažeiks, as well as representatives of the US Embassy, ​​Junior Achievement Europe and strategic partners from the academic and economic environment.  

The event will present the results of the regional project “Building Back Better Through Social Entrepreneurship”, implemented between August 2023 and July 2025 by JA Moldova, JA Georgia, and JA Ukraine, in collaboration with consortium members JA Europe, JA Lithuania, and We Share Forward, and with the support of the Ministry of Education and Research and the Academy of Economic Studies in Moldova. The project, funded by the European Union, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and the Central Project Management Agency, aims to develop the skills and attitudes necessary for young people to create an ecosystem in which social enterprises can actively contribute to the progress of communities.  

“Economic and entrepreneurial education is an essential pillar in training young people capable of actively contributing to the development of society. In the past 30 years, Junior Achievement Moldova has become a solid platform for transformation, and partnership with the academic and economic environment is the key to our success,” says Alexandru Stratan, ASEM Rector and Chairman of the JA Moldova Board.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration in building a generation of changemakers,” said Diana Filip, Deputy CEO, JA Europe.  

The agenda will include debates and panels dedicated to social entrepreneurship, the role of entrepreneurial education in the region, collaboration between the educational and business environments, as well as a showcase event that will present the impact of the “Building Back Better Through Social Entrepreneurship” project. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with international experts, JA representatives from partner countries – Georgia, Ukraine and Lithuania – as well as key actors from the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Republic of Moldova.  

“This event is not only a celebration, but also a reconfirmation of our mission – to equip young people with the skills and mindset that allow them to innovate, create and transform the communities they are part of. Towards the end of the day, a festive recognition ceremony will be held, during which the most involved teachers, educational institutions with a tradition in promoting entrepreneurial education, strategic partners and former graduates who have distinguished themselves through initiative and entrepreneurial spirit will be honoured.
