29 November 2023

JA Europe’s Board of Directors appoint successor of Adam Warby.

The JA Europe Board of Directors appointed Laurence Morvan, Chief of Staff to Accenture CEO Europe Middle East & Africa, as new Chair of its Board of Directors. Morvan will take over from Adam Warby, CEO Emeritus of Avanade, who has led the organisation since 2018 for two consecutive terms with a significant track record on digital transformation, growth and innovation.

Morvan brings her experience in advancing innovation and corporate responsibility across multi-stakeholder fora and initiatives, as well as her passion and leadership for entrepreneurship and future of work. Prior to her current role, she was Accenture’s Corporate Social Responsibility Officer and Chief of Staff to the CEO, overseeing the company’s Corporate Citizenship activities and fostering entrepreneurship in multilateral organisations such as B20 and G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance. She is a regular contributor to international organisations focusing on social impact, such as the OECD and WBCSD/B4IG (Business for Inclusive Growth). Prior to joining Accenture in 1994, Morvan worked in investment banking on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. She holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a MS degree in management from ESSEC business school in Paris.

Accenture is a long-term global partner of Junior Achievement. The two organisations have been collaborating for more than a decade on key strategic initiatives that have set the stage for a new level of societal impact, including through Accenture’s global Skills to Succeed initiative.

Morvan commented during the Annual General Assembly of JA Europe in London on her appointment: “I am thrilled to embark on this journey together with the JA Europe Board of Directors, its dedicated staff, the JA Members across Europe and JA Worldwide. As the world is undergoing massive changes driven by digital transformation and sustainability transition, we need to ensure that everyone can benefit from the same opportunities. It is our mission to provide young generations, including underserved youth, with the skills they need to embrace these changes, so they can unleash their full potential. Together, our network in Europe will continue to grow JA’s impact, reaching more youth, adapting learning methods to technology and sustainability needs and enabling future entrepreneurs to innovate and transform societies for the better.”

Outgoing Chair Adam Warby said at the occasion: “It has been a privilege to lead JA Europe over the past five years that have seen ever accelerating digital transformation, economic and geopolitical turbulence, as well as an unprecedented global pandemic. Our organisation has navigated the uncertainties and embraced change, as demonstrated by the growth in learning experiences, the increase in digital programmatic offers and the huge leap in innovative partnerships and initiatives. I am grateful to JA Europe’s Board of Directors and staff for their collaborative spirit and trust that continue to set this century-old network apart and put it in a pole position for future impact.”

JA Europe is grateful for the invaluable contribution of outgoing Chair Adam Warby and thanks him for the visionary leadership and guidance. The management and staff of JA Europe look forward to working with Laurence Morvan to continue growing and innovating in the next phase of the organisation.
